Vintage inspired Thursday

Why hello there!
Today's vintage inspired dress comes from where else but, Modcloth, of course!
I have to say that when I got this little girl in the mail and slipped it out of the box, I was thrilled with the quality! Wouldn't you agree that she is quite stunning?
I have worn it more than a few times..... And not be braggy or anything, each time I wear it I recieve compliments from people  ( complete strangers, mind you) even while out shopping for our daily needs. So, yes I REALLY like her. That kind of encouragement always boosts your self confidence doesn't it?

A little trip and a concert

This past Friday Ben and I scheduled the day off. We took a trip to a little town in Brookseville ,Mississippi.
I have been reading/ following Chelsea Bontrager's blog and her families blog for close to a year. So when I learned that her and her family would be close by ,(5 hours away to be exact) I was so excited! If you ever have a chance to go see these sweet people I encourage you to do so. You will not be disappointed. Their love for Jesus and each other is pretty obvious. Ben and I have been discussing for a while the music our young people get caught up in today's culture. Some of this music that's in the music industry today just rather sounds phony in my opinion. These people are genuine. They sing songs that encourage and lift our dear Savior and points the way to Him.
When we contacted them about coming, the people that were hosting them invited us to join them for a fishfry. Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. This is what Mr.Lavern and Ms.Miriam showed us that night. They made us feel so loved. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of these dear people to share today.
Ben's Aunt ( whom we'd never met) also lives around an hour or so away from Brooksville, so we got in touch with her and asked her to join us for the evening as well. She is super sweet too!
The Bontrager's are supposed to be coming to Lindale Texas in April. We hope to go see them again then,Lord's willing!
So how was your weekend? What kind of music do you listen to? I would love to know...

Mamaw's birthday

We helped mamaw (Ben's Mom) celebrate her 70th birthday this past weekend.
Her oldest son from Mississippi came down as a surprise. She was so astonished that she began to weep. All three of her sons took her to the Olive Garden and had a grand time.
Meanwhile , while they were gone Ruth and I snuck over to her house and gave it a good cleaning.
One of Mamaw's favorite deserts is cheesecake. So we made her one of those too. I do believe it's safe to say that Mamaw enjoyed her special day very much!

   Stella loved Uncle Charles too!

Vintage inspired Thursday

This outfit is the results of looking at PINTREST. I'm telling you, PINTREST and Modcloth are very dangerous places for a girl like me. So hmmm..... I'd best stay away from places such as those as I can't resist temptation...... Maybe I did order something from Modcloth today or maybe I didn't......:)
So I see this skirt (or a replica anyway) and I send the picture to the talented Miss Nancy of hodge podge paisley by Nancy, and beg the dear lady to make me one. And viola! Here tis!
And the blouse you ask? No it wasn't paired up with this on PINTREST. On there it's paired with a cute denim blue chambray shirt. Cute, but not what I had in mind...... So it's like this, you give a mouse a cookie and then what does he ask for? Yep, in my case a vintage blouse...... " hellloooo, Miss Nancy"? " something with cherries please? Oh yes my friends, she never ceases to amaze me.
I adore my lovely outfit by hodgepodge paisley!
Today I am sharing the before and after photos of my hair " the before" taken at our local antique shop down the road. Miss Milly Rose is the owner. You couldn't meet anyone sweeter than Miss Milly Rose.
One day I was in there and she was praying for me before I had even left her store. I thought it was so sweet. You know not many people do that with their customers. She is really bold in her faith, something I envy for sure!
