Nan's birthday

My sister goes by the name Anna, but I've called her Nan ever since I can remember. And to my siblings and nieces and nephews I am Sis or Aunt Sissy. I love pet names. Oh goodness I could probably do a whole post on all our nick- names we have for family members but that's not what this post is about. It's about my sister and her birthday we celebrated a few days ago.
Nan is one of my dearest friends in the whole world. I am probably the closest to her more than any one I know. She " just gets me" that's all.:) She's the one that always laughs at my attemps to joke. (Every one knows I can't tell them right).
My sister and I were both born in the month of July. We are only 2 years apart. Growing up ,she always wanted to do everything I did, which would really ,really bug me. And for some reason she was always determined to do it better, and that bugged me too. But as we've grown older those things don't matter any more. She does everything better and I am proud.
Nan's mother- in - law planned a supper in honor of her birthday. Homemade tamales, guacamole. Chips and dip and a crisp salad. I made a Hershey bar cake. We had a good evening of food and making good memories. Isn't that what life is all about?
  I love you Nan!!!
